We had a good turnout for our Christmas lunch at the Loose Goose at Twin Waters. It was a lovely venue on a hot day to be in the airconditioning to enjoy a lovely lunch. As you can see by the pictures, all who were there enjoyed a good chat and pre-Christmas catch-up with their redhatter friends. Thanks Judith-McD for the beautiful gift bags each lady received. We certainly added colour and an air of festivity to the restaurant.
Happy Christmas everyone!

Queens of the North lunch at Caboolture 3/11/12

Our new Vice Queen, Princess Sweet Pea and VQ Lady Baileys over Ice represented the Sweet Hearts

On Saturday 3rd November there was a gathering of the Queens of the North at a restaurant in Caboolture. Our VQs Sandi and Jan C attended. The lunch was held at "Scott Damiens on the Lake", a lovely venue with a view over the lake from the terrace where we were seated. There were 30 Red Hatters in attendance including Queens, Vice Queens and an Empress.
Queen Nettie of the Shangri-Lars, Caboolture was our hostess for the afternoon. We were greeted by Queen Gleeful Glee of the Sunshine Sistas (Kawana) and encouraged to get our raffle tickets for the lovely prizes on show. Unfortunately the unusual design handbag was not won by Sweet Pea despite her willing it to happen in her favour, She did manage to win a bottle of red wine by having one of the lucky Bingo cards.

Yes, that's right- we played Red Hat version of Bingo during the day. Fiona from "Just Add Bling" provided a fashion Parade of non- Red Hat garments. After all, there are days when other colours are worn. The garments showcased the bright hues of yellow, orange and electric blue, all of which are forecast to be the colours of this summer.

Friendships made at the Giggle in July were re-newed. Many lovely compliments were made by the Queens in regard to the Sweet Hearts organisation of the Giggle. Several went so far as to say that it was the best Giggle they had attended.

An enjoyable day!

We had to leave early on the last day, but stopped in at Nimbin on the way home for breakfast

"Spring into Summer", Casino NSW 2012

We had a fabulous time when we attended the "Spring into Summer" gathering hosted by the Sassy Cassies (2nd to 4th November 2012).
Queens Janet and Dianne and their whole team of helpers really went all out to make us feel warmly welcomed, and it was a fun and friendly affair from start to finish.
We started off with a Meet & Greet cocktail party on the Friday evening at the RSM, having earlier registered and browsed the Traders stalls and purchased raffle tickets.
This was a good chance to catch up with some familiar faces from past Giggles, and to try and locate our "mate" from the Colour Song Match game.
On Saturday morning, buses picked us up from our motel and we travelled to Grafton where we looked around the local craft markets and the lovely town. The jacarandas were in full bloom, and the avenues of these magnificent trees lining almost every street in town did not disappoint!
Loaded down with shopping bags, we returned that afternoon in time to dress for the Gala, which was again held at the RSM.
A lot of work had gone into transforming the venue into a spring theme. Every table boasted floral centrepieces with little birds or butterflies. Some of the hats were true works of art, and of course everyone looked stunning in their red and purple BEST!
We were sad to miss the final breakfast and skits on Sunday morning, as we had to leave early, but we did console ourselves by calling into Nimbin on the way home for breakfast.
A great time was had by all at the gathering. The Sassy Cassies are to be congratulated!
