First Australian Red Hat Day November 22 2013

Red'nPurple Ragers Calendar launch

Caloundra RSL hosted a large crowd of redhatters from all around the region for the Inaugural Australian Red Hat Day in honour of Florence Slattery(98), Supreme Matriarch of Australia, who first brought redhatting to Australia in 1999.
The Red'n'Purple Ragers also unveiled their  2014 Calendar (think Calendar Girls in red hats).
The lunch was a lot of fun and the musical entertainment provided by Greg and Laura Doolan had us up on our feet dancing.

Saturday 16th November Cocktail Party

What a fabulous night!!

Julie and her husband Lynden (who was the cocktail waiter on the night) sure put on a fantastic affair for us at their home in Nambour.
The evening sparkled...from the twinkling fairy lights strung in abundance to the glittering jewels on the ladies' attire.
Many thanks to Julie and Lynden for the great night of cocktails, song and dance.
Sparkling personalities, champagne and lights

Morning tea at Organic Cafe, Yandina 11th November

LEST WE FORGET

Dressed in our red and purple regalia, and adorned with poppy flowers, several Sweet Hearts met at the Organic Cafe at Yandina for morning tea.
We respectfully obseved a minutes' silence at the 11 o'clock for Remembrance day.
Some of us shared stories of loved ones we especially remember on this day.
Then we shared a very pleasant time over coffee and treats followed by some shopping.

Queens of the North lunch 9th November

Queens of the North lunch at See Restaurant, Mooloolaba

More than fifty Queens, Queen Mothers and Vice Queens from the Sunshine Coast and beyond attended a lunch organised by the Sugartown Sweet Hearts at See Restaurant at Mooloolaba Wharf (near UnderwaterWorld)
These lunches are held twice a year for the Queens to meet and mingle and share ideas. Our theme, as with our Giggle in 2012 was "Fun and Friendship", and the groups shared stories of events held by their various groups which reflected those themes.
It was a very happy and rewarding day for all and we're now brim-full of ideas to take back to our own groups to try out.
A bigThank You to Sue and Sandi who were our catering co-ordinators for this event.

Lunch at Maroochy Surf Club November 7 2013

Lunch at the surf club.......

Twenty ladies attended lunch organised by our Duchess of Diamonds (Joan) at the Maroochy Surf Club. The views from the large picture windows overlooking the beach and ocean were rather splendid.
We had a lovely time catching up with friends and chatting.
