Mt Tamborine Wednesday 28th August Day Two

A walk in the forest

On day two of our Mt Tamborine trip the group split in two different directions for the morning and met up again for lunch.
Six ladies put their walking shoes on and went to Curtis Falls for a rainforest walk and then headed to the Skywalk for an elevated walk in the rainforest canopy on the cantilevered bridge.
Eight ladies chose to take another look at the shops they'd missed the day before, and a few more purchases were made. Then we all met up at Cedar Creek Estate winery for lunch.

Red Hatting friendship on a Murray River Paddle Steamer

Helen Bird's amazing red hat experience in S.A.

It's amazing just how the red hat friendship spans across the country (and the world!)
Here is Helen's(Lady Bird of Helensvale of Sugartown Sweet Hearts) story of Red Hat friendship by a group in South Australia , in her own words....

"My husband and I were enjoying a holiday celebrating his 50th Birthday, visiting South Australia and driving around different areas. In one of the towns we came to, called Mannum (which is on the Murray River) we came across a Paddle Steamer on the river. Now at this time of year, these boats are usually in dry dock and only come out in the Summer months from October onwards.

So we stood out in the very cool afternoon breeze taking photos of this boat. We had wanted to try to take a paddle boat ride and were quite disappointed to find the boats only cruise in the summer.
A gentleman that was also watching the boat told us that it was going to be going on a cruise up the river as they had a conference of paddle boat people on board.

As it was getting a little cold to keep standing outside, I ventured into the Museum section and to my surprise came upon a group of about 25 Red Hat ladies.
Well of course we soon got to chatting and they told me they were going on the Paddle Steamer too! Next thing they were inviting me along....of course I told them I was with my hubby and we didn't have my red hat etc, etc.....But of course that was no excuse! We ended up buying two red caps and getting draped in red scarves and being included in their adventure.
Wow! How wonderful to be a complete stranger yet be included and welcomed as friends."

Dinner at the Red Bridge Thursday 15th August

A night out at the Red Bridge Motor Inn Restaurant

Twelve Sweet Hearts met at the Red Bridge Motor Inn Restaurant for our regular monthly dinner outing. It was great to catch up with the girls again after being away for three weeks on a road trip to Adelaide and back.

We had plenty of time to chat as the service was a little slow, but the food when it came was pleasant.
