Sirens March 22nd Dinner at Taj Indian Restaurant, Coes Creek

Indian dinner at Taj, Coe's Creek

We had a party of thirteen Sirens at Taj Indian Restaurant on the 22nd March. This lovely dinner was organised for us by Chris Milloy, and it's always a pleasant evening out.

While we were waiting for our meals, Marilyn gave us a short talk about the fund raising effort of her Zonta Club who are aiming to send 1200 "birthing packs" to Third World countries to try to assist women in less fortunate circumstances to have safe births. It's amazing what a difference such a small pack can make to the mortality rate for these women. We gave $3 per pack (individually) and also made a group donation from the Sirens funds of $50 to this worthy cause.

As usual the food was plentiful and most enjoyed their meals. It's usually very well-priced here too.

Sirens March lunch at "Driftwood", Maroochydore

Lunch at Driftwood, Rivershore Resort

What a delightful spot for our  Thursday 8th March  lunch hosted by Judi Biddington.
Ten ladies enjoyed the day of fun and fellowship. Good food and service and many laughs during the course of the day....just what RED HATS is all about!
Being International Women's Day, Sandi suggested we give a short talk on women who had (or still do) inspire us through our lives. This was a very interesting segment and gave us an insight into some of our member's lives as well as some forgotten heroes.

Linda had a very lucky day. She won both the Lucky Chair and also the Lucky Draw prizes. She went home the proud owner of a lovely crocheted shawl (done by Sandi) and also a canvas wall plaque. Never again can she say she never wins anything!

We missed Chris who unfortunately couldn't make it due to a nasty bug. Also Woolly who has just had her operation. We wish her all the best for her recovery. Then of course our travellers and we wish them safety in their travels.
