Sirens lunch at Green Zebra (Parrearrea)

Lunch at Green Zebra 9th November

It was only a small group of seven Sirens who met at The Green Zebra at Parrearrea  (Kawana) but what we lacked in numbers we made up for in chit chat.
Vice Queen Barb (Dame Billie T) is back after being away traveling around Australia for several months in her caravan. She's thrilled to be back at home amongst friends and family. There's no place like home!
Vice Queen Judith was sporting some sunnies after having recent cataract surgery. She's also spent quite a bit of time tripping to various parts of Australia with her family and she and her sister Margot will soon be joining their family in Bali for a lovely week's holiday.
Queen Sandi was looking resplendent as usual and recently had a win (second place) as a Melbourne cup lunch for her stylish outfit.
Lesley/Jackie/Adelaide had also had a win (of the monetary kind) at a Melbourne cup lunch she'd attended. It was her birthday last week and she'd been away down south to spend some time with her son and grandies.

Chris and Judith gave us some feedback on the Siren's recent five day trip away to the Gold Coast where they stayed at SeaWorld Nara Resort. A lovely relaxed time had by all.

A tribute to Vice Queen Jan Holmes, Lady Jazz'n'Shiraz

As she approaches her 80th Birthday in April, Jan has decided it's time to hang up her red hat and retire from The Sunshine Sirens where she has served as one of the Vice Queens since our group began, and before that as Vice Queen with The Sugartown SweetHearts.
We are very sad to see her go, as she has contributed so much to the group. Not only is she a lady of grace and dignity, always immaculately groomed, she also had a wicked sense of humour and was always up for some fun. She dressed up in costume with a great sense of style and frivolity and joined in with our skits and performances at a couple of Giggles.
She could also organise a good group holiday away....thank you so much for that, Jan.

We'll miss you Jan!!
