The Sunshine Sirens Members Profile: Baroness of Burgundy (Kim B)

Baroness of Burgundy (Kim B)
The Baroness wins a prize

Kim chose her red hat name because of her love of the colour burgundy (she even got married wearing it!).....so while some ladies struggle to find an appropriate name, it was a no-brainer for Kim.
Kim was drawn into red hatting by Dame Billie T (Barb... whom she has known since early childhood) after moving from Brisbane to live in Maleny.

Kim has five children and three grandchildren (and counting). Only her youngest still lives at home. (she says: any takers?)
Kim grew up in a small town and after many years of city living has escaped to the country to follow her dream of a more connected lifestyle.

She has many interests and hobbies to keep her busy. The most recent acquisition is three spinning wheels! She has a large bag of Alpaca wool (bought along with the wheels and some lessons) that we'll expect to see turned into some sort of garment in the future.
She's rediscovered a passion for reading, now that she has a little more time on her hands at last, and joining a local book club has broadened her choice of genres and been another avenue of new friendships.

Like many others in our group, Kim loves to travel. She and her husband joined the grey nomads for eighteen months, taking their off-road caravan for an extended trip down the Eastern states  all the way to Tassie, sometimes stopping long enough to work and keep the coffers  (and fuel tank) filled.
They've also been lucky enough to travel quite extensively in Europe and the UK. Catching up with long time pen friends in Malmesbury (UK) and Wales were highlights of these trips. She  claims that it IS possible to have seen enough castles (Barb doesn't believe her!)
